The "music-alogue" chronicles the history of the Fisk Jubilee Singers. Interspersed with their major songs, Swing Low, Sweet Chariot and Steal Away, this historical multimedia drama depicts the nine courageous young people who set about to build a major educational institution for African Americans during the post-slavery/post-Civil War era. Their singing helped to popularize the "Negro Spiritual" as well as to delight audiences throughout the United States and Europe. Grades 6-12
